Doctor Kapetaniorgis Athanassios was born in Thessaloniki and received a secondary school diploma from the 5th Lyceum of Thessaloniki. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina in 1993.

He specialized in Pulmonology at the 2nd Pulmonology Clinic of the Hospital ‘C. Papanikolaou’ and received the specialty title in 2000.

Since then he maintains a private practice in Thermi. At the same time, he has collaborated as an external physician with the 2nd Pulmonology Clinic of the Hospital ‘C. Papanikolaou’, as well as the General Clinic of Thessaloniki, dealing with the whole range of emergency and non-emergency pulmonary cases.

It is also a selected member of the Interamerican Health Network.

He has published articles in reputable medical journals, has taught at the Middle Technical and Professional Nursing School of Thessaloniki and has participated in numerous medical sessions in Greece and abroad.

He is a member of the Medical Association of Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Pulmonology Society, the Society for the Study of Lung Diseases and Occupational Lung Diseases as well as the European Pulmonology Society.
